Jewelled gold and silver-gilt mounted guilloché enamel bowenite Gum-Pot - Fabergé, with the workmaster's mark of Michael Perchin, St. Petersburg, ca.1896-1908.

Formed as an apple, the bowenite body applied with gemset gold-mounted silver calyx and a silver-gilt caterpillar emerging to one side of the stem, the latter enamelled in translucent green and brown with a cabochon ruby finial, forming the handle of the brush.
