Unseen Helmut Newton Photographs to Be Exhibited in Caraglio

CARAGLIO, ITALY—From October 23 through March 1 of next year, the Filatoio di Caraglio in Cuneo, Italy, will present Helmut Newton. Interweaving, an exhibition organized by the Artea Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Caraglio. The show is curated by Matthias Harder, director of the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin.

Housed in the 17th-century silk mill—considered one of the most important surviving textile sites in Europe and today home to the Museo del Setificio Piemontese—the exhibition will bring together more than one hundred photographs. Several of these works have never before been shown publicly.

Newton’s practice is represented across both editorial and commercial commissions. Campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Wolford, Ca’ del Bosco, Blumarine, Absolut Vodka, and Lavazza are displayed alongside portraits of figures such as Monica Bellucci, Nadja Auermann, Kate Moss, Carla Bruni, and Eva Herzigová.
